Our Host: The Milton Cafe
We are grateful to our hosts Ben and Merle at the Milton Cafe who graciously welcome
us into their restaurant to hold our poetry gatherings each month. They also have
allowed us to fill the walls of the café with a variety of paintings from local
artists, many of which attend the Express the Arts evenings. Details about
contacting the artists as well as prices can be seen by each picture.
As always, there is always room for fresh paintings, photographs, poetry and
artwork. Contact us if you would like to display a piece.
Milton Café (905 876 2559) is located on the west side of Ontario Street North (opposite Spokes and
Slopes), just north of Main Street, going under the railway bridge.
The poetry evenings begin with the group gathering in the café at around 6:00pm to
enjoy a delicious meal of curry, roti or samosas, washed down with wine, beer or
Chai tea which is Ben’s speciality.Participants may phone ahead to preorder.
Open Mic poetry readings begin at 7:00pm on the last Friday of each month and
continue until around 9:30pm.
